Bear Balanced creatine gummies review: what's in them and do they work?

A pile of fresh blueberries, one of the flavors of Bear Balanced creatine gummies

Short version: Bear Balanced creatine gummies give you 1 g of Creapure creatine monohydrate per gummy, so 3 to 5 gummies a day lands in the 3 to 5 g range research supports. In a 2024 lab test by NOW Foods, a Bear Balanced gummy came in 165 mg above its label. The catch is what else is in the bag.

  • Dose: 1 g per gummy. You pick 3, 4, or 5 a day.
  • Testing: passed one 2024 lab test, but no NSF Certified for Sport seal.
  • Watch for: huperzine A, a lot of B12, and sugar alcohols that can upset your gut.

Last updated October 2026.

Bear Balanced calls itself "The World's First Creatine Gummy." The brand launched in early 2022, long before creatine gummies were all over Amazon and TikTok.

So is it any good? The short answer: the creatine part checks out. The extras are where you need to read the label.

This is an honest review. Seya is launching its own creatine gummy in January 2027, so we have a point of view. Nobody paid us for this post, and we did not get free product. We read the label, the lab results, and the studies behind each ingredient.

How many grams of creatine are in Bear Balanced gummies?

Each gummy holds 1 g (1,000 mg) of creatine monohydrate. The creatine is Creapure, a branded form of creatine monohydrate. That figure comes from NutraIngredients-USA's 2024 report and BarBend's review.

The Amazon listing says to take 3 to 5 gummies a day, with no loading phase. That gives you 3 to 5 g of creatine.

That range matches the research. A review of common creatine questions found 3 to 5 g a day is enough to raise muscle creatine over time. See Antonio et al. (J Int Soc Sports Nutr, 2021).

The 1 g size is handy. Smaller women may be fine at 3 a day. Larger or very active people can go up to 5. You don't need a scoop or a scale.

Do Bear Balanced gummies contain what the label says?

In the one public test we found, yes.

In early 2024, the supplement company NOW Foods bought 12 brands of creatine gummies. It tested them in a lab using HPLC, a standard method for measuring how much of a compound is in a sample. Overall, 46% of the brands failed to meet their label. See the results in WholeFoods Magazine.

Bear Balanced passed. Its gummy tested 165 mg above the 1,000 mg on the label, or about 1,165 mg.

Two caveats are worth knowing:

  • It was one test, in 2024. It checked the batch NOW bought. It does not prove every batch since then.
  • NOW sells creatine too. It is a competitor, not a neutral lab. Still, its method was public and it named both passing and failing brands.

Why does this matter so much? Creatine breaks down in water, heat, and acid, which is how gummies are made. Our guide to whether creatine gummies work explains why so many brands come in short.

Are Bear Balanced creatine gummies third-party tested?

The brand says it works with outside labs. But when a reporter asked the founder to name the lab in 2024, he said he was "not able to at this time," per NutraIngredients-USA.

We also checked the NSF Certified for Sport directory on October 26, 2026. Bear Balanced was not on it. Two other creatine gummy brands, Create and Lemme, were.

A seal like NSF Certified for Sport means an outside group checks that the label matches what is inside and screens for banned substances. If you are a tested athlete, or you just want that extra check, this is a real gap. Our review of Create creatine gummies covers a brand that does carry the seal.

What else is in Bear Balanced gummies?

This is where Bear Balanced is different. It is not a plain creatine gummy.

The brand calls its formula "Creatine+." Per the Amazon listing, it is a proprietary blend of creatine plus four extras:

Ingredient Amount What the brand says it is for
Creapure creatine monohydrate 1 g per gummy Strength and energy
L-theanine Not split out on the listing Memory and focus
L-tyrosine Not split out on the listing Energy and mood
Vitamin B12 About 17,000% of the Daily Value, per BarBend Brain health and energy
Huperzine A 50 mcg, per BarBend Focus during exercise

"Proprietary blend" means the label can group ingredients together. We could not find the L-theanine or L-tyrosine amounts on the Amazon listing. Small doses of these may not do much. BarBend's dietitian also noted the B12 "far exceeds your needs."

Is huperzine A safe in a daily creatine gummy?

This is the ingredient we would think hardest about.

Huperzine A comes from a Chinese club moss. It is a cholinesterase inhibitor. That means it slows the breakdown of acetylcholine, a brain chemical tied to memory. See Wang et al. (Acta Pharmacol Sin, 2006).

Most of the research is in people with Alzheimer's disease, not healthy adults at the gym. A review of 20 trials found possible benefits for memory scores. But the authors warned that most trials were poor quality. See Yang et al. (PLoS One, 2013).

So huperzine A is a drug-like compound with little research in healthy, active people. We found no reason to add it to a daily creatine habit. If you take any prescription medicine, are pregnant or nursing, or are under 18, talk to your doctor before you take a product with huperzine A.

Are Bear Balanced gummies sugar-free?

Yes, they are sold as sugar-free, vegan, and keto. But "sugar-free" does not mean nothing sweet. Per BarBend, the gummies are sweetened with stevia and two sugar alcohols, maltitol and sorbitol.

Sugar alcohols are only partly absorbed. The rest reaches your large gut, where bacteria ferment it. A review of 79 studies found they can cause gas, belly discomfort, and a laxative effect, and the more you eat, the worse it gets. See Lenhart and Chey (Adv Nutr, 2017).

That matters here because of the dose. Going from 3 to 5 gummies a day also means more sugar alcohol. If you already bloat easily or have IBS, start at 3 and see how you feel.

Creatine itself rarely upsets the stomach at normal doses. In one study of 59 athletes, diarrhea was more common with a single 10 g dose than with two 5 g doses. See Ostojic and Ahmetovic (Res Sports Med, 2008). Our guide to whether creatine causes bloating walks through what is creatine and what is the gummy.

Are Bear Balanced gummies good for women?

The creatine part, yes. Women tend to have 70 to 80% lower creatine stores than men. Creatine has been shown to help women's strength and exercise performance. See Smith-Ryan et al. (Nutrients, 2021).

The 1 g gummy size also suits women well. You can take 3 a day instead of a big 5 g scoop.

The extras are the question mark. If you only want creatine, a plain creatine product is simpler. Our guide to the best creatine for women covers what to look for.

How fast do Bear Balanced gummies work?

Bear Balanced says no loading phase is needed. That is fair, but it changes the timeline.

In a classic study, men who took 3 g a day reached about the same muscle creatine after 28 days as men who took 20 g a day for 6 days. See Hultman et al. (J Appl Physiol, 1996).

So at 3 gummies a day, plan on about 4 weeks before your muscles are full. Taking them every day matters more than the time of day. See creatine before or after a workout.

How much do Bear Balanced creatine gummies cost?

A bag of 90 gummies was listed at $49.98 in FitnessVolt's 2026 roundup. Here is what that works out to:

  • 3 gummies a day (3 g): 30 days, about $1.67 a day.
  • 5 gummies a day (5 g): 18 days, about $2.78 a day.

BarBend reported the same $1.67 to $2.78 range. Plain creatine powder costs far less per gram. You pay for the gummy format and the extras. See creatine gummies vs powder for the full cost math.

Who Bear Balanced creatine gummies suit, and who should skip them

Could be a fit if you:

  • Want Creapure creatine in a gummy you can dose 1 g at a time.
  • Care most about a brand that passed a public lab test.
  • Avoid sugar and gelatin.

Maybe skip it if you:

  • Take prescription medicine, are pregnant or nursing, or want to avoid huperzine A.
  • Get gas or bloating from sugar-free candy.
  • Need an NSF Certified for Sport seal for drug-tested sports.
  • Want to know the exact amount of every ingredient.

Our verdict on Bear Balanced creatine gummies

On creatine, Bear Balanced does well. It uses Creapure, the 1 g gummy makes dosing easy, and it passed the 2024 NOW lab test with room to spare. Many creatine gummies can't say that.

But it is not a simple creatine gummy. It adds huperzine A, a drug-like compound with little research in healthy adults. It packs far more B12 than you need. It uses sugar alcohols that can upset your gut at 4 or 5 a day. And it has no NSF seal or named testing lab.

If you want creatine and only creatine, look for a plain formula with a third-party seal. If you like the blend, start with 3 a day, check with your doctor about huperzine A, and give it 4 weeks.

Where Seya fits, honestly

Seya's creatine gummy is coming January 2027. It is not on sale yet, and we will share the full label when it is.

Today Seya sells a fiber gummy made with resistant tapioca fiber. It supports regularity. It is not a creatine product.
